A timeless style
Sartorial elegance, innovation, creative flair, and craftsmanship are the strengths of Gallo, a pioneering company that has revolutionized the world of hosiery. And like every revolution, Gallo's was born from an idea, an intuition so powerful it reshaped classic patterns and subverted the very concept of style. Gallo challenges tradition and the ordinary, championing a new and surprising way to interpret and wear hosiery.
The story of Gallo
This is the story of an all-Italian success story, which began in Milan in 1927, before moving to Desenzano del Garda in the late 1930s, where the historic Gallo factory remains today. Initially, the company produced blue and gray socks. Durable, classic, and high-quality. Just what was needed at the time. Then, in the 1960s, the first spark ignited: thanks to a unique and innovative approach, Ambrogio Colombo invented openwork socks and baby socks, the smallest socks ever made.
The company continues to grow. The value of traditional craftsmanship is complemented by a strong commitment to technological industrial evolution . Thus, handed-down knowledge, raw materials, and craftsmanship become indispensable elements, just like the use of the exceptional Bentley chassis, which still today enable the creation of exceptional workmanship and distinctive collections.
Make room for the new
Since 1998, tradition has been overturned and given way to change. Thanks to the resourcefulness and intuition of Giuseppe Colombo, the brand's CEO and creative director, purchasing socks is no longer a necessary action, but rather an impulse. From a simple accessory, almost exclusively for men, socks have become a pure representation of style, an original way to express one's personality, a detail that truly makes a difference.
An unmistakable style
Shades of gray are abandoned. Socks are filled with exuberant colors . An explosion of multicolored stripes in varying proportions, color contrasts, and bold geometric patterns appear on socks, knitwear, jackets, and accessories for men, women, and children. Line after line, collection after collection, continuous creative research redefines a new aesthetic for socks, which increasingly become an emotional, distinctive, and eclectic element.
Continuous quality
For us at Gallo, quality is made up of concrete, precise, and unique actions. We pay the utmost attention to every stage of production and undergo nine meticulous compliance checks to meet the highest standards. Everything is always meticulously crafted, down to the smallest details: from the weave to the color of the yarn, from the regularity of the stitches to the execution of the embroidery. Our ongoing commitment, passion, and ability to pass down our artisanal expertise over time are the purest and most recognizable expression of the brand.
Author's signature
Like every work of art, Gallo socks have their own distinctive signature. Rimaglio , a distinctive white or red thread, is an imperceptible finish that ensures maximum comfort: it joins the toe to the foot of the sock, replacing the more common stitching. Rimaglio is a timeless art that is still performed by hand in the company today: sock after sock, specialized staff performs this process, perfectly matching the two rows of stitching.
The yarns
We select and use only premium materials , rigorously "double" and "twisted": extra-fine merino wool, pure Scottish cotton, linen, cashmere, and 100% silk, extremely fine and comfortable. We purchase raw yarn from the world's finest producers, then dye it in Gallo colors, an exclusive range of a thousand shades. We use electronic equipment to constantly analyze the product's intensity, evenness, and brilliance, and allow a deviation from the Gallo color range of only 0.8% (exactly half the parameters universally recognized as "high standards").
